Shed Builder in Penrith and Western Sydney
A shed built around what you use it for
Purpose-built sheds, garages and workshops designed to suit your property, your needs and the way you plan to use the space.
Built around your property, not around a standard kit size
The question is not just whether a shed will fit on your block. It is whether the shed that fits will actually do what you need it to do.
For basic storage, a standard shed may be enough. But if you need room for vehicles, machinery, a workshop, a caravan, larger equipment or a space you will spend real time in, the dimensions and layout start to matter much more.
At Build It Wright, we build custom sheds, garages and workshops across Penrith and Western Sydney, planned around the property and what the space needs to achieve.
Storage, workshops, garages and larger purpose-built structures
A shed can be anything from extra storage to a fully functional workspace. The right design depends on what you need to put inside it, how you need to access it and how you want to use it day to day.
Storage sheds
Create dedicated space for tools, garden equipment, household storage and everything else that has slowly taken over the garage.
Workshops
Built with the height, floor, power provision and access a working space needs. The layout is worked out around your bench, your machinery and how you move around it.
Garages and carports
Secure, weatherproof parking for vehicles, boats, caravans and trailers, with door sizes and clearances set to what you are putting in there.
Rural and larger sheds
Machinery, equipment and hay storage on acreage, built to the spans and heights that larger properties need.
Shed homes
A shed built as a liveable building rather than a storage structure. The approval pathway and the build requirements are different, and we can talk through what is involved before you commit to anything.
Shed replacements
Where an existing shed has deteriorated, is the wrong size or is no longer safe, it can be removed and replaced with one built to suit how you use the space now.
More room to store. More room to work. More room to use properly.
Give everything its place without taking over the rest of the property
You have run out of room in the garage
When the garage becomes storage, the cars end up outside and everything gets harder to find. A shed moves the storage out and gives the rest of the property its space back.
You need somewhere to work, not just store
A workshop needs height, light, power and room to move around what you are working on. Most garages were never built for that.
Your vehicles and equipment are sitting outside
Cars, boats, caravans, trailers and machinery all deteriorate faster in the weather. Undercover storage protects what is often a significant amount of money sitting in the driveway.
Your existing shed is past its useful life
Rust, movement, a failing roof or a slab that has cracked up can all make a shed more trouble than it is worth. Replacing it is usually more straightforward than continuing to patch it.

Why Choose Build It Wright for Your Shed
A useful shed starts with getting the size, structure and site right.
More Than 20 Years of Building Experience
Kym has spent more than two decades in carpentry and residential construction, including structural work and steel-framed structures. A shed is a building, and it benefits from being treated like one.
Built to Suit the Way You Use It
We do not start with a standard size and ask you to make it work. The height, width, openings, access and internal layout can be considered around what you need to store, park or work on.
We Consider the Site as Part of the Build
A good shed needs more than a structure. Levels, drainage, access and slab requirements all influence how well the finished building works, so they are considered as part of the project from the beginning.
Practical Details Matter
Door heights, vehicle clearance, power provision, drainage and access can be easy to overlook early and difficult to change later. We work through those details before construction so the finished space is actually useful.
Built With the Same Care as Any Other Structure
Fixings, flashings, drainage, framing and detailing all affect how a shed performs over time. We approach those parts of the build with the same care as the more visible elements.
A Licensed Builder Managing Your Project
Your project is overseen by a licensed NSW builder, with the required insurance and documentation in place before construction begins.
Shed and workshop questions we get asked most
How much does a shed cost?
It depends on the size, the height, the site preparation required and what the shed needs to do. A basic storage shed on level ground is a different project to a workshop with a heavy-duty slab and high clearance. We will talk through a realistic range at the consultation and provide a detailed quotation and scope of works before work begins.
Do we need council approval for a shed?
It depends on the size, the height and where it sits on the property. Some sheds are exempt development and some require approval, and we will tell you which applies to yours before you go any further.
What is the difference between a custom shed and a kit shed?
A kit comes in set sizes and configurations, and the design works around what is available. A custom shed is designed around the dimensions, clearances and layout you need, and the slab and site work are part of the same project.
Can you build a shed we can live in?
Shed homes are something we take on, though a liveable building has different approval and construction requirements to a storage shed. We can talk through what would be involved for your property before you commit to anything.
Do you do the slab and site preparation as well?
Yes. Levelling, drainage, the slab and the structure are all part of the build, which is generally more straightforward than coordinating separate trades yourself.
Can you replace an existing shed?
Yes. We can assess the existing shed and slab, let you know whether any of it is worth keeping, and quote on removal and replacement.
Build the extra space your property is missing
If you are planning a shed, a workshop or a garage, tell us what you need it for and we will arrange a time to come out, look at the property and talk through what is possible.
