Remedial Building Services in Penrith and Western Sydney
Repairs that address the cause, not just the damage
Remedial and rectification works backed by more than 20 years of building experience, with a licensed builder managing your project from the first consultation through to handover.
Repairs based on what is causing the problem, not just what you can see
With most building problems, the damage you can see is not the problem itself. It is the result of one.
A stain on a ceiling, a crack that keeps coming back or a wall that never quite dries out are usually signs of something happening behind the surface. Repairing the visible damage without addressing what caused it tends to mean the same repair again in a year or two.
Remedial work starts with working out what is going on, then repairing it in a way that holds.
At Build It Wright, we carry out remedial and rectification works across Penrith and Western Sydney, from water damage and mould through to structural repairs and building work left incomplete by someone else.
Remedial work for homes, strata, investment properties and commercial buildings
The type of property may change, but the process starts in the same place – understanding what has gone wrong and what needs to happen next.
Homeowners
Water damage, cracking, moisture problems, deteriorated materials or defective building work within the home. We assess the affected area, explain what we find and carry out the building repairs required.
Strata and Property Managers
Remedial and rectification works across common property and individual lots, with clear communication around scope, access and progress. We can work with the person coordinating the repairs and provide the information needed to help move the project forward.
Property Owners and Investors
Repairs to tenanted or vacant properties, including rectification of existing damage and maintenance issues that need attention before they become larger problems. Work can be planned around access and tenancy requirements where practical.
Commercial Properties
Remedial and maintenance works for commercial buildings, businesses and facilities. Where required, works can be planned around site access, operating hours and other practical requirements.
Assessment and repair of damaged, defective or deteriorated building work
Remedial work can range from repairing one affected area to rectifying several connected issues across a property.
Water damage and leaks
Leaks can relate to roofing, flashing, gutters, drainage, waterproofing, windows, external walls or other parts of the building envelope. We inspect the affected area and consider how water may be entering or moving through the building before determining what building repairs may be required.
Mould and moisture problems
Persistent mould is usually a symptom of a moisture source or a ventilation issue rather than a cleaning problem. Addressing the cause is what stops it returning after the affected materials are replaced.
Structural repairs
Movement, cracking, damaged framing and deteriorated structural elements can all affect how a building performs. We assess what is happening and carry out the repairs required to restore structural integrity.
Rectification of defective building work
Work that was completed poorly, left unfinished or does not meet the standard it should. We can review what is there, identify what needs correcting and carry out the rectification.
Replacement of damaged materials
Where building materials have deteriorated beyond repair, they are removed and replaced as part of restoring the area to a sound condition.
Corrective and safety works
Repairs that improve the safety, integrity and functionality of the building, including work that needs attention before it becomes a larger problem.
Identify the cause. Repair the damage. Restore the building.
When another patch is not going to solve the problem
The Damage Keeps Coming Back
If the same crack, stain or damp area keeps returning after repair, there is usually more going on than the surface finish. Remedial work looks beyond the visible damage to understand what may be contributing to it.
You Do Not Know Where the Problem Starts
Water and building movement can show up a long way from where the original issue begins. Investigating the surrounding structure can help narrow down the likely source before repair work starts.
Another Builder or Trade Has Left Work Incomplete
Taking over someone else’s work can be complicated, particularly when parts of the original construction need correcting. We can review what has been completed, identify obvious issues and determine what building work may be required to move the project forward.
You Need to Understand the Scope Before Making a Decision
For homeowners, strata committees and property managers, it is often difficult to approve repair work without first understanding how extensive the problem is. A clearer picture of the affected area helps you make decisions about the next step and expected scope.

Why Choose Build It Wright for Your Remedial Works?
Remedial work starts with understanding what went wrong.
More Than 20 Years of Building Experience
Kym has spent more than two decades working across residential and commercial construction. That experience matters in remedial work, where the visible damage and the source of the problem are often in different parts of the building.
We Start With the Cause
Before we quote on a repair, we look at what is producing the damage. It is the difference between a repair that holds and one that needs revisiting.
We Tell You What We Find
Remedial work can uncover more than was expected once materials are removed. Where that happens, we explain what has been found and what the options are, rather than continuing and raising it afterwards.
We Take On Work Other Builders Have Left
Rectifying incomplete or defective work is a regular part of what we do, including projects other trades have walked away from.
We Work With Owners, Committees and Managers
Remedial work often involves more than one decision maker. We are comfortable working through approvals, reporting and access arrangements with whoever is coordinating the repairs.
A Licensed Builder Managing Your Project
Your remedial works are overseen by a licensed NSW builder, with the required insurance and documentation in place before construction begins.
Remedial and rectification questions we get asked most
What is remedial building work?
Remedial building work is the assessment and repair of damaged, defective or deteriorated parts of a building. It covers water damage, mould, structural repairs, replacement of affected materials and the rectification of work that was not completed to the standard it should have been.
How do you work out what is causing the problem?
We start with an inspection of the affected area and the parts of the building that could be contributing to it. In some cases the cause is clear at that point, and in others some investigative work is needed before the full extent can be confirmed.
How much does remedial work cost?
It depends on what is causing the problem and how far the damage extends, which is often not fully known until the assessment is complete. We will talk through the likely range early, and provide a detailed quotation and scope of works once the extent is understood.
Can you fix the work another builder started?
Yes. Rectification work is a regular part of what we do. We can review what has been completed, identify what needs correcting and prepare a quotation for the remaining works.
Do you work with strata committees and property managers?
Yes. We carry out remedial works on strata and managed properties, across both common property and individual lots, and we can work through the approval and reporting process with whoever is coordinating the repairs.
Do you take on commercial remedial work?
Yes. We carry out remedial and maintenance works for commercial properties, businesses and facilities, and can plan the works around trading hours and site access requirements.
What happens if you find more than expected?
It is reasonably common in remedial work. If additional damage is uncovered once materials are removed, we will explain what has been found and discuss the options with you before proceeding.
Get to the bottom of the problem before repairing the damage
If you have water damage, mould, cracking or building work that needs rectifying, tell us what you are dealing with and we will arrange a time to come out, assess the area and talk through what is involved.
